چکیده

Version 1, 6 March 2005 This paper discusses behavioral models of RF blocks. The RF blocks amplify, filter, modulate, and demodulate RF carriers. The paper classifies behavioral RF models as either passband or baseband. Like device-level models, passband models explicitly simulate every cycle of the carrier. However, baseband models suppress the carrier to trade some accuracy for a dramatic increase in execution speed. The first part of this paper explains one way in which behavioral models of RF blocks fit into the design flow. The next two sections describe passband and baseband models. The paper concludes with an example of how behavioral models can help diagnose anomalous lab observations of an OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) system.

Analysis of updraft velocity in mesoscale convective systems using satellite and WRF model simulations

Updraft vertical velocity is an important dynamical quantity which is strongly related to storm intensity and heavy precipitation. It can be calculated by direct observations, NWP model, and geostationary satellites which can provide the possibility of measuring this quantity with high temporal resolution. This research analyzed updraft velocity based on six derived parameters from INSAT3-D and...

Modeling of RF Waves in Free Space Optical Communication System Under Gamma-Gamma Turbulent Channel Effect

In this paper, an enhancement design of communication system using optical radio frequency (RF) waves in free space optical communication (FSO) system is presented. To our knowledge, it is the first time that the effect of Gamma-Gamma turbulent channel model on the performance of the proposed system is analyzed and simulated. To obtain an optical communication system with good performance and h...

Introduction of an Adaptive Modeling Technique for the Simulation of RF Structures Requiring the Coupling of Maxwell’s, Mechanical, and Solid-State Equations

As RF technologies mature designing complex RF systems is becoming an increasingly difficult task. Modern systems include components that cannot be modeled with traditional simulators. This paper introduces a modeling technique for use in RF systems that combines Maxwell’s, mechanical, and solid-state equations. The resulting simulator can be used to simulate microelectromechanical structures (...

A Frequency-Domain, Volterra Series-Based Behavioral Simulation Tool for RF Systems

In this paper a new behavioral modeling approach for RF systems based is presented, based on a Volterra series input-output map representation. The modeling is done purely in the frequency domain, capturing the typical system level speciications for RF building blocks, independent of the implementation details. A harmonic balance simulation tool has been developed based on those models. The imp...
